Healthwatch was established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to understand the needs, experiences, and concerns of 

people who use health and social care services and to speak out 

on their behalf. 

The organisation exists on a national and local level and works towards empowering people to have a 

voice in their health and 

social care systems.

Healthwatch can also offer support and guidance, including how to make a complaint.

The Patients Association is 

an independent charity 

campaigning for improvements

It works directly with patients and has a helpline for concerns and queries about the health and
