A national campaign to improve the safety and experiences of frail, elderly inpatients.
SFEI wants to change the experience of frail, elderly inpatients by challenging the NHS to improve the current hospital infrastructure in smaller UK hospitals to offer safe care for the growing numbers of frail elderly needing inpatient care.
Family members should be able leave their loved ones in a hospital ward without the fear that they will be ignored or neglected merely because they are viewed as too much trouble to care for.
It is acknowledged that the NHS and its staff are under unprecedented pressure due to the lack of funding and staffing gaps. However, this does not reduce their responsibility to provide safe, equitable care for all frail, elderly inpatients wherever they are located geographically.
The NHS, as it stands today, is currently failing in its care of frail, elderly patients and urgent action is needed to
resolve this issue otherwise even more of our loved ones
will pay the price.
Sign our petition to challenge the NHS to provide safe, compassionate care for the frail elderly.
We want the NHS to urgently put
‘frailty guardians’ in All NHS hospitals
to ensure the safety of frail elderly inpatients.
We want the NHS to create
Frailty Wards in ALL HOSPITALS
for those frail elderly patients who are admitted by any route with the facilities and staff to care for them.
